After completing the progression, students should revisit activities for additional practice while continuing to learn the full Zearn Math for K curriculum with their class. Activities follow an intentional progression, starting with Numbers to 5 and building to Numbers to 10, Numbers to 15, and Numbers to 20. Digital Activities: Digital Activities are short, engaging, activities designed to develop kindergarteners’ number sense.Teachers circulate during this time to provide feedback on different strategies and use the Notes in the Lesson to support students who may need further scaffolding with a concrete manipulative or an alternative representation. Students are encouraged to choose their own strategy and/or representation as appropriate.

  • Problem Sets: Students work through Paper Problem Sets to independently solve problems, using a range of strategies in a variety of contexts.

Teachers also have access to a Guide to Using Digital Activities that includes information on the instructional purpose of each type of Digital Activity, questions to support student understanding, instructional “look-fors”, and recommendations on additional means of representation that can be used to support students who are struggling with a concept. Materials for each Mission include fluency, word problems, lessons, paper exit tickets *. Zearn Math offers comprehensive materials for teachers to use during this time covering all six Missions of the curriculum.
  • Teacher Materials: Each day with Zearn Math, kindergarteners spend most of their time learning with their teacher and peers during teacher-led instruction.
  • All materials are available through Zearn Teacher Accounts. Zearn Math for K curricular materials includes resources for daily teacher-led instruction, Digital Activities, Assessments, and Reports. Zearn Math for Kindergarten is a full curriculum designed to build strong math foundations and be developmentally appropriate for young students.
