These paper-based assessments are intended to be administered interview style, where teachers record their observations of the student’s work and thinking. Assessments: Zearn Math for K includes Mid- and End-of-Mission assessments, formative assessments administered roughly halfway through the Mission and at the conclusion of the Mission respectively.

After completing the progression, students should revisit activities for additional practice while continuing to learn the full Zearn Math for K curriculum with their class. Activities follow an intentional progression, starting with Numbers to 5 and building to Numbers to 10, Numbers to 15, and Numbers to 20. Digital Activities: Digital Activities are short, engaging, activities designed to develop kindergarteners’ number sense.Teachers circulate during this time to provide feedback on different strategies and use the Notes in the Lesson to support students who may need further scaffolding with a concrete manipulative or an alternative representation. Students are encouraged to choose their own strategy and/or representation as appropriate.
